This is the purity of your gold jewelry. 24 Karat is considered pure or 99.9% gold. In the United States most jewelry is 14K which contains 58.50% gold. We use three different methods to accurately and safely determine the purity of each gold item you send in. - The weight of your gold - In order to find out the value of your gold items they must be weighed, the more it weighs the more valuable it is. We use very accurate scales to determine the weight in pennyweights (DWT) which is the industry standard. There are 20 DWT in a troy ounce of gold.
